This page is to get some general knowledge of the layout of your home for a dachshund and a little about you and your reason for choosing a dachshund. Please feel free to write comments in that section so we understand your answers. Please understand that while we want everyone to experience the wonderful love of a dachshund, we also want to make sure that our dachshunds are in loving homes.
It has become more apparent to me over the last years that some homes are not training their children how to respect animals. Even if you do not have children, please be aware of neighbors who may have a child that would come into contact with your dog. Without meaning to a child can frighten a young puppy and change their personality forever toward all children. We are asked by so many if our dogs are “good with children?" I believe the question now has become “are your children good with dogs?”
Our puppies are raised without fear of anyone and have lots of hands on them and socialization. It is important that a child know that there is a way to hold a dog that will not frighten the puppy and that they shouldn’t chase the puppy trying to catch it if it runs away afraid but to get an adult to help them love on the puppy so it is not afraid.
Help children to understand a puppy is not a teddy bear that they can toss to the side or dress up and play with like dolls.
We want to bring all your fears to rest about us as well so feel free to ask us questions and we welcome visits with an appointment also.
